Deficient NY state program

Federal program is fine, but NY state program is severely deficient. A number appeared in one of the entries without a reason, and could not get rid of it without override, which prevented me from e-filing. later, when I needed to file an amended return, the state program was less than helpful.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Form 8949 Problem

Imported capital gains/loss data from a brokerage account caused problem with IRS accepting the e-filed return. A H&R Block software help person identified the problem area in general, but could offer no remedy. Also, the help person had an accent that made communications difficult and lengthy. After two IRS acceptance failures, I was able to solve the problem by trial and error. Something was wrong with wash sale entries where the amount was less than 50 cents and the entry truncates to zero. Also, the messages after IRS transmission failure were not specific and of no use. Other than this, all went well.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to import, Fast

I know there is a lot of tax software out there, some even free. H & R Block is easy, accurate and gives you options that the other software choices do not. Free tax software is "free" for a reason, you have to pay for options as you get further into the program. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. H&R Block gives you what you need with support if you need it. Thank you H&R Block
