I have been using this software for years now and I am never disappointed in it. I had tried some others in the past but they do not even come close. I will be with them forever!
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast

Unwieldly H&R block software is driving me crazy

Neither of the two software packages mailed to my home would allow me to 1) pay for them, 2) file federal taxes online, or 3) download the state file I needed.
So I bought the Deluxe 2016 package online, and it took 2.5 hours to download the state file I needed on my high speed internet connection. Most unorganized access I've seen in 5-6 years of using H&R Block filing software.

Could do better on two things

There are two places where I always struggle and I think H&R Block could provide much better advice. The first is the weird, "are you choosing your last year's sales tax or your last year's income tax" thing and the other is the portion of the car registration that's deductible. I realize that it varies from state to state, but there are only 50 of them, it's not like it's 1000. Computers can handle it. Especially considering that residents of my state make up a big proportion of the country. Maybe you do need to provide some special advice for California residents.

Fine for basic stuff, doesn't have all the forms

I have used the H&R Block software for the past 5 or 6 years. This year I was issued at 1099-Misc instead of a W-2 for a former employer and found that the forms 8919 and SS-8 were not part of the software. So I could not complete or file my taxed using the purchased software. Very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to sse, but lacks some features

Program is easy to use, but contains some inconveniences for certain conditions. It does not accommodate entry of social security income from multiple sources (i.e., other countries), so you have to enter the total as though it was all paid by US. Therefore, the total does not match the SSA-1099. Also, the program investments income questionnaire does not include reason codes for short sales of stocks and options, so the data verification section suggests that you may have made an error in entering transaction dates.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Comprehensive and Easy to Use

This is my third year using this software program to complete my taxes. It is an easy step by step process that covers everything that I need. You can feel confident that your return is accurate when completed. I highly recommend this product.

Had some duplicate entries from my Brokerage account that I had to catch and correct. Over $50,000 in total.
Cons: Hard to prepare

I have been using this product (H& R Block- Deluxe) successfully for several years now.
It is convenient, as I am able to do my return on my schedule.
Plus, the program saves me a lot of money as compared to having to pay someone else to prepare my return for me.
I firmly Believe it is the most cost effective and efficient way for me to prepare my return.
