H&R Block 2016 Deluxe (version 6401) is flawed

If you click on "Add Item" in the Foreign Tax Credit screen" (even if you make no entries and it's blank) it will create an item that overrides the foreign tax credits that were in the 1099-DIV entries and they will not carry over to the 1040. To disable the override you must either close and reopen the return or delete the item in the Foreign Tax Credit screen. This is a subtle malfunction that is hard to catch and it's even harder to figure out how it operates.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to import

easy to use for simple tax preparation

We have used H&R Block tax software for years to prepare our own taxes. Without having complicated tax issues, this software makes tax preparation easy and nice for us to complete our own taxes year after year.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast

OK Software But Too Much Nonintuitive Stuff

There were too many things that I could not find by extensive navigation of the system pages. The system uses worksheets and mini-worksheets and I was unable to find and view those used to calculate my tax.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to import

HR Block solves problems Intuitive

I had many issues with taxes due to AHCA and conflicts with a year of unemployment, Unexpected IRA distributions and HRB walked me through a number of steps to finalize the years with as much gain as I could. Many new rules. HRB had it laid out for someone who was willing to tackle each problem and solve it.

Way-wrong AGI

I have been using Tax-Cut/HRBlock software for many years. My 2015 AGI was filled in by this years program as 222. Why so far off from 100K as calculated by last years HRB software? I had to redo and manually input the correct number!!!

Ok, but needs better error messages

Ok for non complicated tax filing but very frustrating when trying to figure out why we didn't qualify for the Minn M1PR Homestead Credit. They gave a canned error message saying we didn't qualify because of any of four reasons but they were to lazy to tell us which reason related to us. I had to download the M1PR form and instructions from the state to figure this out. I consider this lazy programming.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love H AND R BLOCK DELUX PROGRAM IT IS EASY TO USE AND IT GETS ME ALL THE REFUND I CAN GET. I WOULD NEVER USE ANYTHING ELSE
