For the last 4 years I have used H&R Block software. It is easy and simple to use...just plug in your records and answer the questions and in no time at all your taxes are done with no stress at all.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund

Big Problem

The software filed my Federal Return without me telling it to. It had errors that it said must be corrected before filing, but it filed anyway! So now I will have to file an amended return!
Cons: Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The software steps you thru your returns as expected. Most instructions are pretty clear and help/explanations are generally acceptable.
Problem is with the return printing function for state returns. If you're using duplex (2-sided) printing, the software causes the mailing checklist to print back-to-back with page 1 of the state return. HRBlock seems to have corrected this problem for the Federal 1040, but still has not fixed it for state returns. I've been noting this deficiency in my reviews for years.

The Best Tax Software I've Used

I've been using H&R Block tax software for many years. I wouldn't
think of using any other. The interview covers thoroughly everything
that involves us with the IRS. I'm sure that the IRS has great respect for H& R Block!

Submitted and accepted by IRS., THEN *.T16 file disappeared from computer ?! / fortunately had printed additional copies of finalized return and IRS "filing accepted" notification, before file disappeared on computer.
Pros: Easy to prepare
