This software is very easy to use. However, I am disappointed that it does not contain all IRS forms! This limits the ability to complete online filing since I had to get the form I needed in hard copy. And without that form, I would have gotten a lower refund. Tax software should include all the forms a tax-payer might need to complete their taxes. Or at least provide an option to download additional forms as necessary if you don't want to include them all in the software.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare

Easy Transition from TurboTax

I've used TurboTax for years, but they began to not support my stable Windows XP platform. I decided to transition to HR Block. The program installed easily in XP and ran smoothly, acquiring the previous data from the TurboTax files of the previous year. It was easy to use, and in some ways easier to navigate than TurboTax. I haven't used it to file my taxes, and I hope it will go smoothly, as well. The state forms were easily populated and I have yet to file the CT state form and hope it works out well. I recommend it to those who still want to use Windows XP.

My experience was good except that I was mailed the CD Big Deals and promised free Federal filing.....there was no activation code! So I had to pay to finish. That was disappointing.

I have used H&R Block since it was originally called PCTaxcut. It is great and easy to use. The only thing is that every year, another feature seems to disappear. This year, the two year summary does not seem to be available. However, the main use is to create taxes and it has always proven to work well.

Can't e-file

I finished doing the taxes, then lo and behold, the software does NOT allow me to e-file due to the number of capital gains transactions. Not an IRS limitation, but one imposed by the software.

Updating program was a pain!

In general, this year's 2016 H&R Block program was very easy to follow, but I have never before experience the troubles I had to go through while trying to do the updates to this program.

H&R Block tax filing system is so easy, that you have to be a blockhead if you don't. Nowhere to go to fill or, mail anything. Most situations you're finished in 30 minutes or less.
