I was with H&R online service since 10 years which is an excellent program.Please don't make the mistake of buying it.This product is a rip-off

Disappointed in Federal. Dissatisfied with ALState

As I prepared federal return would liked to have seen results on form 40 as I entered various categories of info. Had 2 retirement incomes which were excludable on state. Had to prepare it manually as I did not enter proper amounts under "Pensions & Annuities". Needed "Help" that explained clearly how to arrive at amounts to be shown.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Completed process and submitted e-file only to find out after tax day that the process didn't go through. Checked bank and found money had not been paid. Wen't back into program to find e-file wasn't submitted two weeks prior as thought. Spent more than an hour trying to process e-file. When I think it has finally worked, I get message saying can't e-file return, call this number. What an ordeal! Lori had to know who my friends were, what state I received my SS card from, my shopping habits, cities I'd lived in, counties lived in, you name it.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Once all the statements are collected, the software offers forms and worksheets which parallel those statements and make information entry easy. The software checks for omissions and errors to help insure the acceptance of the return.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

Screwy download. And did not get my state

I have used the tax cut program several years and have been pleased with it in the past. However, this year I had a great deal of trouble with downloading onto my Mac. I also did was unable to download the state program which was promised on my purchase a CD. It caused a fair amount of extra time and displeasure. I never did get to use the state portion - frustrated
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When I completed and submitted my return it was rejected by the IRS. Stress and concern set in pretty fast. H&R Block immediately sent me an email with clear, easy instructions for correcting the problem. Shortly afterwards, I got an email that the IRS accepted my return. Thanks, Block for your speedy, efficient assistance.
Pros: Easy to prepare

It is user friendly and very easy to use once you started. I gave it a 4 star because I had a hard time downloading the software. It took me a couple of hours to figure out the download issue, maybe because I bought it from Amazon and not from H&R block. The cost is average when you buy from H&R but with excellent value from Amazon.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
