Software has some problems

Had Brokerage info downloaded by HRB, and unfortunately some stock sales were not characterized properly on Schedule D. Fortunately I checked results from 1099-B's furnished by brokers and made proper corrections.
Cons: Hard to fix issues

Easy to use and Intuitive

After many years of doing my taxes at the H&R office I decided to give it a try to their software. My main driver was saving time, every year I just get busier so doing my taxes from home just sitting in my living room was a nice experience. Software is very friendly, you can go back and forth, edit as many times as needed, it tracks your refund during the process and has very helpful links if you want to understand more....I'm shock with the number of things that could be taxable or stuff that can generate a credit. Keep your previous returns handy for validation, check your names and SS numbers and pay the extra fee for the state filing. Do your e-filing in the morning, there is a little glitch if you try close to midnight. I guess date differences East/West coast.

Pretty much does what I need, but the interface is still clunky and non intuitive. For example, if only wanting to e-file federal, the interface got stuck with no"next" option. I had to go to the ribbon menu and manually navigate to print and file for state.
Interface needs the option to increase font size to make it more readable. Need more notations of "not common " where that applies. I am trying to teach my kids to do their own taxes, and the get all nervous about items the shouldn't like entering federal tax for a prior year due to re-filing. Your interface chokes on that question big time.
Need the option to e-file for state for free.
For what it does and the clunky nature of the interface, the price for the product is about twice it ought to be.

I have used H&R Block Deluxe Tax Software for 6 years and love it's ease of use and great low cost. I spend more time compiling my data to input than it takes to complete my tax return.
I would recommend this to a friend!
