Makes rounding errors

The software works well enough most of the time. However, it unnecessarily introduces errors because it rounds all entries to the nearest dollar. Normally, this is not a problem, but if you have many entries of the same type, like multiple 1099-B reports, the sum of rounded values can end up several dollars different than what is reported by a payer on a consolidated 1099-B.
Since the software rounds, if a payer reports a value less than $0.50, the software records 0. The trouble is that the software then considers this an error that must be corrected in order to e-file. The only possible corrections are to delete the payer's 1099, or to change the value to $1. I guess I'll find out if the IRS cares if I report a higher amount than did the payer.

Better treatment of RMDs

The 2018 program had a better set of questions for filing RMDs and the prepaid taxes on them.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Program crashes when trying to import W-2's. I would think that would be basic functionality they might have noticed in beta testing.
Also, sometimes it does not provide clear definitions for terms. That would be handy. They are easily found on the internet, but should be in the software.
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works O.K. - But with some frustrations

Two big complaints. When the return was complete I could not download the document to a memory stick to print it later and elsewhere. Trying to look at the return before or after sending it to the IRS was frustrating by incomplete images on screen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Everything is great except for the verification process. Since I live in a state with no state income tax, the verification process goes round and around trying to make me enter amounts in the state portion of the W-2 worksheets. If I put in zeros, it then complains there is no state. If I put in the state, it then wants a state tax company ID. If I delete everything, I am back to square one with it wanting state income. In the past putting in zeros sometimes satisfied it. The the only choice you have when trying to correct this is to delete the form, BUT that would delete the entire W-2 form!! The program needs to be smarter to not know when no state tax data is needed.
Also it’s W-2 input is not complete for categories for Box 14. If a person has to pick “Other” because the program doesn't have what is listed on the actual W-2, it should allow the person to physically enter what is in Box 14 on their actual W-2

I like this except for the Itemized Worksheets. Once you add them, you cannot easily get to them. And when you do, they take you out of where you were if you click the wrong one.

Inadequate printing options. Should allow selection of individual documents rather than printing numerous pages uncontrolled..
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming
