generally easy to use

Have used this product for many years without problem. This time there seems to be a glitch in the Capital Gains and Losses Worksheet that involves selling an inherited home. If the gains/losses are to be split among multiple heirs you are instructed to adjust the gain/loss accordingly and put either a minus or plus amount on line "Other adjustments to gain/loss". However neither a plus or minus amount will adjust the line for corrected basis. Time consuming attempting to find my error and contact HRB for a work-around that ignores the 1099S. If you don't need this particular worksheet then it's simple to follow the guides.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Time consuming

Still awkward software

I've been using this since it had another name, so I am pretty attached. the software still needs some work. While you do give the OPTION of customizing where to install, the software updates dont work unless installed on the C drive - and it takes some searching to figure that out. it should be clearly marked during installation and also during that error message
I used the downloadable update for the federal, but it would not work for the state (VA, Windows 10). So I had to uninstall and reinstall. and then it finally worked
also, both times I installed i had to click on the program twice - the first time it said ok, now we'll install, and then it closed itself. second time it worked.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I tried to save my return as a pdf document and it didn't work. I tried the chat functions - live and online - with no luck.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

Address for mailing next year's tax estimates not listed. Difficult to print disk copy of tax returns.

Federal was good. PA state dividends and interest it would not except. I had to change it manually.

This program walks you through all the forms and makes tax filing easy. SInce I used this the last five years all the information flows into the current tax data base.
