Have used program for many years. This is the first time there was an error. The program had automatically inserted incorrect AGI from the previous year. Necessary to override entry.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to import
I would recommend this to a friend!

First of all, just like many of your entries there are insufficient character spaces available to make required entries. Specifically, the statement your program indicates will be included with the 1040 when printed...it simply does not print...and when you select the form and print it from the forms page it comes out with a BOLD PRINTED "NOT FOR FILING'' in the upper right corner.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare, Hard to import
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Still not sure about this

I have used H&R Block's software for years. It has made me nervous a few times, but everything has always turned out ok. A couple of years ago, the IRS was not happy about how some of my income was reported. We received a 1099-Misc, and I eventually found a way to enter it into the program, but not in the right spot. After a year of dealing with the IRS and a few hundred dollars, the IRS was satisfied. I still not sure whether it was my mistake or whether Block's interview didn't cover the situation for that 1099-misc. I guess I am still a little nervous.
Cons: Hard to prepare
Pros: Fast

Getting smoother every year

Overall, the program worked very well. In the Delaware State form, there were a couple of glitches with a special tax credit for Neighborhood Improvement. I had to exnter the number in 2 different places. Seems the software should take care of that. Also, program does not contain form 700. Odd.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import
I would recommend this to a friend!

FUSTRATING

Sorry I purchased the program. Purchased mainly for the MLP Schedule K-1 portion of the program. Gave a big head ache. When I went to e-file I kept getting the message I needed to enter a number in the non-passive column. The investment was passive. I could not e-mail the tax forms until the error was corrected. Came back the next day, and apparently the error had corrected itself. But, I still could not e-file kept getting the message I needed to update the program. No way to update the program. Finally gave up and downloaded the state and federal forms, and mailed them. Spent several hours trying to correct the problems. John

Deluxe Tax Software

Overall, I found the product to do as advertised. I've used TaxAct to file my returns in the past. This was the first year I used the H&R Block product and I found it was comparable; however, I do have at least two complaints. The worksheet for the charitable cash/check contributions limited the number of specific charities I could list while TaxAct allowed me to list as many as needed. Unless I'm missing something, the other weakness I found was the fact that no category exists in the deductions section that correlates with line 8 (Other taxes) on Schedule A. This line was simple to input in the TaxAct software. I'm assessed per capita taxes & flat taxes by my community and these normally go on line 8 of Schedule A. I could find no where to add these miscellaneous taxes (they don't belong under state & local income or sales tax) so I had to include them with real estate taxes to get my deduction.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Fast
