odd error with e-file not caught in accuracy review. error with Form 1116 not caught in accuracy review but preventing from e-file. help was useless. fortunately I finally figured it out from previous years successful interview.

I have used H&R Block software for many years now. I was a bit surprised this year at the dramatic increase in federal taxes owed. I suspect it may have been related to investment income increases combined with full year social security income, but I don't know for certain. It would be helpful to have a year to year explanation as to why there is a year over year change (increase or decrease) to explain the changes, perhaps using AI.

The interface feels old. It is. State taxes are overpriced (I've never bought them). Although I've used Block for many years, I will shop around next year.
