The font is too small for us old people. I got stuck on the data review screen, it wouldn't let me advance. It is not clear as to what the form 6781 question means.

I've used this software for 3 years now. It gets the job done. However, in the attempt to 'idiot-proof' the software, it has become cumbersome and finding input screens has become more challenging. I know where I want to put a number on a return so when I have to walk through 3 screens to get it there, I get annoyed at the waste of time necessary to do so. The software works well... the input screens are becoming burdensome.

I tried the first time to see if I could file for free, as the return was simple. Had an awful time getting anything transferred from last year's return or even getting out of new return to purchase the one I needed. Tried calling Block for help with no results.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been using HR Block Tax Software for decades and have found it very useful. A few years back, I tried transitioning to their On-Line version, but did not find it as user friendly - so this year I went back to using the Off-Line version. I do like the idea of having my Returns stored in the HRBlock Cloud Site - so I post my docs and Off-Line Return to my On-Line account for future reference - so I get the best of both!
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased the Deluxe plus state tax program and I'm happy with the ease of using the program. However, I also paid to electronically file the state program. I see that both the federal and state returns have been accepted but I can only get details on the federal return. I cannot get the confirmation details on the state return. The "check status" is only next to the federal return. This is disappointing since I paid an extra fee to file the state return.

it works fine IF you don't have questions! Trying to use their chat bot is like talking to a post.
