I have been using H&R Block for a number of years and have always been impressed with the ease of importing previous years records but mostly that the software completes all the necessary forms without my having to search for and fill them out myself.

Way too many frustrations; won't use it next year

Several things didn't work in the software this year. Imported my W2, preview looked good, form ended up blank; had to enter by hand. Got errors in the audit because it didn't carry over my address or my wife's SS# in spots. It left line 11 (itemized deduction total) blank and asked me to put in a number (even though I went through all the itemized questions). Been using HR Block for years. Never had this many issues. Frustrating enough that I'll pay the extra for TurboTax next year.

The software was not intuitive and almost had us paying thousands more in taxes than we actually owed. Luckily, I knew better and was able to fix the issue. I had trouble finding where to enter some of our documents and spent a lot of time reviewing my return to ensure that it was correct.
I will be returning to TurboTax next year.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
