First time I have used H&R Block software, it was great. Very efficient, fewer screens than TurboTax, got the job done much faster.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

my income was in the phaseout zone for deduction for Traditional IRA. S/w insisted on a small deduction. I wanted to contribute the whole amount to after tax traditional IRA. I was not able to do this. I had to override the s/w and then I could not efile for federal or state.
Please allow me to accept the deduction or choose my amount.

The program works well overall. However, to file my return I had to disconnect my backup drive so I could update the program to the latest version. That's unnecessary and aggravating. Do better.

I have used H&R Block Tax software to do my federal and state taxes for years and each year it becomes BETTER and BETTER. I completed my 2024 tax returns in record time, filed electronically and was notified almost immediately that they were received by the Fed and state. H&R Block Tax software makes doing taxes almost enjoyable and you don't even have to leave the house. A GREAT helper to make life a WHOLE LOT less stressful.
