Compared to paying a professional CPA for taxes that aren't super complicated (just a bunch of 1099s and W2s with a few deductions), this product is worth its value. You can even deduct the cost of the product itself on your taxes. You can import your 1099s directly from your financial provider or you can enter the info yourself (i.e. enter box 1 here, box 2 here, etc).
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is some of the questions were a little difficult to answer and tell what they were. What's good is that they tell if something is relatively common or not, but they don't really give reasons behind why you'd take a certain adjustment. It would be nice if the software gave examples on each credit or adjustment so you could see if it applies to you or not.
It's a great piece of software and easy to use, but you need to be a little bit financially literate and know what certain things mean in order to make sure you do it correctly.

Cons: Time consuming

I have always used H&R Block software to do my elderly relative's taxes, and it works fine. There were a few times this year that I wished there was an explanation of what they were asking me. There were some explanations available about other things, but not others that I needed. I just make my best guess and move on.

I bought the deluxe edition to get the financial Invesment features. Initially, the software would not import the National Financial information. Your assistance person was not much help. Their solution was to manually enter the numbers.... I could have done that without the deluxe features. They did mention another update was coming. After the update the software imported the data. Two problems, your assistant didn't know the import was being fixed, and it should have worked in the first place.
Pros: Easy to prepare
