Been using H&R Block Tax Software for decades. It is easy to use and I trust it to complete my tax return correctly and to provide me all the tax deductions I am authorized. I have never had a tax submission returned for incomplete data.

This is the first year that I ran into an issue. The "interview" was apparently unclear about my having taken RMDs. An apparent incorrect answer on my part showed me owing the IRS over $13,000 in penalties. After wading through every individual form, I found an incorrectly checked box.
Cons: Time consuming

I found it more difficult than the earlier years. I started partially filling it out two times when I attempted to pause it until the next day when I could finish it. I clicked SAVE but both days I lost everything I had completed the previous day. I probably didn't take enough time to study the process. So I decided I would sit down and do the whole process at once when I had enough time. VOILA. I reached the point where you told me I was finished. I was shocked at the refund I was to receive since we had more income in 2024 than previous years. I reviewed the main points such as total income received and taxes already paid, as well as other parts. I was still surprised by the high refund due but decided since I was sure all my figures were accurate and I had completed everything, I would immediately file. It was accepted soon thereafter and you gave it your endorsement, so I was finally very satisfied with what we finally accomplished together.

The program works good but there are a couple things I don't like. 1. CSA-1099 and standard 1099 have to be used together for some retirement. The blocks needed are not in either so I have to use both. 2. I would like to see the deductions shown vs your work sheet, it makes it easier to double check. 3. The states lived in should be able to accept more than 2.
