I have used HR Block software for many years. It has always performed well. For my tax needs, their software has always asked the necessary questions and insured an accurate tax return. I have been using H&R Block tax software for about 20 years. I makes doing taxes understandable and is a great tool at the end of the year to see how close you are to shifting tax brackets. This allows one to take advantage of shifting IRA's over to ROTH IRA's and containing the tax bill now and in the future.

I have used H&R Block software for many years with no issues. This year I have multiple issues. The online chat feature is really of no use. I spoke with 3 different people and no one was able to fix the issue.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After two years using this program, I'm finally learning how to use it. It is essentially a good program and easy to use. One issue that proved difficult is handling RMD's. The program asked for "excess accumulations" but NEVER defined what that was which left us very confused. After several trials of putting the RMD is several boxes we hopefully got it right. At any rate the accuracy checks worked out. A glossary of terms would be helpful.
