after updating the software on a started return, the software would not total my federal withholding correctly. The return kept saying I owed over 45K and would face a penalty. The updated software ignored over 47K in with holdings. I discarded the initial return and opened a new return but the same fault recurred. After several hours I found the fault in the mini work sheets. The software kept attributing my federal with holdings to my home state despite the entries being correctly done in the interview section. (which has no income tax). I manually moved the data to the proper federal box.

Been using the product for many years, and appreciate it has good value - reasonable price for an accurate outcome.
The various interview workflows are overdue to be reviewed. They have not been improved for years. Most could be simplified, e.g. "Do you need to itemize?" Several also need disambiguation - the instructions can be interpreted in multiple ways, leading to confusion and errors.
This 2024 season in particular, there seem to be more false positives being flagged during Accuracy Review and no way to report these as bugs - so this feedback is now showing up in a public review.
