I have used the H&R Block Deluxe software for over 10 years and they are always an easy way to do my taxes since I don't have a lot of complicated procedures to go thru to file. Never had a problem and the IRS has always accepted my returns within 24 hours of sending them in. I'll continue to use this software as long as I can.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

My first year with complaints. First time I ordered it - and paid for it - it wasn't available for download. I had to pay for it and order it a second time. Then I had to go through the credit card company to get back my pay for the first order. My wife has an IRA and just turned 65. The software kept insisting that she needed to do all kinds of research about people who MUST take a disbursement by the time they're 73. There was no way to just tell them that whole section was not applicable.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

While the download version is less expensive than in store person to person returns, its ease of use and thoughtful questions maximize deductions and credits.
