Makes completing taxes pretty easy, but.. a caveat

However, the Minnesota state tax program needs work. Minnesota does not mail out the information needed to file form M1PR, until the end of March. The online instructions need to be updated to include text telling us how to use the program to file the state taxes without this information, and then tell us how to use the program to complete form M1PR, once the necessary information is mailed out by the state of Minnesota.
Pros: Easy to import documents

I've used H&R Block Deluxe for three years after using Turbo-Tax for many years before that. I got tired of paying a premium for TT features I never used so I tried HRB Deluxe and am very happy. I did notice this year that when printing out both the federal and state returns that the page numbering (IRS and CA) was confusing and the CA return needed a blank page after the instruction sheet. HRB should add their own page number some where so clients are sure everything is in the right order or additional instructions on page order on the instruction sheet.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy to Use and eFile

Been using Block Tax Software for at least the past 5 years. Always find it easy to use and efile return with no problems. One Issue: This year IRA distributions are lumped with other pension incomes reported on 1099-Rs and is not reported separately (ie 1040 Line 4a is blank) as on past returns. Had to go to the IRS on-line instructions to verify that this is correct. Would have been helpful, and time saving, if Block flagged this change in the instructions. Was confusing to me and others have posted the same issue on-line.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have used this program for years. This year I found what appears to be an error. My taxable pension income number is not the same on my Federal as on my NYState program. It appears to be incorrect on the Federal program.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

Been using for years and have always had same problem. After preparing taxes it is very difficult to print returns and exit the program. You get looped around and round. Lots of wasted ink and paper Frustrating!!!!!!!!!
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!

A few quirks in the 2018 program

Some odd things in this program - our address on an imported W-2 had "foreign" selected (it's a PA address) with no country selected. This error was caught by the validation. I checked the import of the W-r and did not see this error right after the import. In the eFile routine, the imported 2017 AGI was -3000. Where did that value come from? Had to do an override to correct. These are really basic errors that should not happen, so what else did I not catch?
