I have been using the H&R Block software for about 20 years and find it relatively easy to use. My returns are not overly complicated anymore with only retirement income, HSA income, SSA income and some dividends & interest so it is straight forward but back in the day had more complicated returns with stock options and ESPP income and the software for those years handles everything fine although I did have to do some tax research to make sure I entered everything in the proper places but all worked out well was always able to submit my returns in early February and received my refunds within a week or 2 at the most. Also have never had an audit. What I really like about the software is that it walks you through just about every imaginable type of income, expense and credit. There are lots of questions. I read down through every one of them to make sure I don't miss any possible ways of reducing my taxes. I didn't find anything new on the Federal side this year but did find one regarding state income taxes that I didn't realize before and it saved me about $35 on state income taxes.

transferring previous info to new latest tax forms

overall a good program. Only area needing attention is the portion referring to Royalties. I have two oil companies paying royalties but the program wasn't able to complete the reporting and completion of all aspects of two versus one royalty for some reason. I had to complete manually the schedule E as the program did not transfer the info from questionnaire portion to schedule E.
I would recommend this to a friend!
