Second year of H&R and no serious complaints. I got lost a couple times with different forms that needed to be filed, but after a bit of searching it all worked out as it should.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast

Bought this last Fall when they made their usual offer. Had trouble getting it to transmit my return. Turned out I downloaded as soon as the program was ready and the first update wouldn't install properly. Had to remove program and reinstall. The replacement download incorporated the troublesome update and worked just as it should.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents

This is the first time I've used tax software, and I will continue to use it. Up until now, I have been doing the taxes with the forms provided by federal and state agencies. This entails using as many as 5 or 6 additional forms, and maybe getting things right. This year I just had to put the information into the software once, and it did all the extra work for me. The total time it took me from when I started to download the software until I got the message that IRS accepted my return was about 3 hours. No more15 to 20 hours on my taxes.

Problems correcting data fields

I found it difficult to correct software generated data based on my entries. I was finally able to file but I’ll wait and see if irs rejects filing

The questions on 1099Rs need to be improved. They are not very intuitive. I am only 64 and do not need to withdraw any funds from my 401k yet. The program still had me answer these questions

First and second downloads didn't work

The first copy of the software (Mac) would not update, and HRB sent another copy. (This happened last year as well.) But the second copy wouldn't install the state version of the software without double charging me. I had to get a third copy that finally worked.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Fast
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
