I have been using this software for many years, this year is no exception. The only issue I have had is that the update, to complete the planning survey ,is still not finished, but I have filed my taxes, both state and federal.
This years software , in my opinion, has issues in the area where you fill out the 5329 form. In my case it filled out the wrong entries in the form, which gave me errors. It took several calls to support to fix it.. I got both my Federal and State forms accepted within hours of submitting.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is my 8th year using the product. I found the interview process to be superior to TurboTax which I had been using. The only issue I had this year was when I was doing a Maryland State tax return. The counties of Maryland each have a flat rate income tax but not necessarily the same income tax rate. Although the program imported all data from the 2023 return, it got the St. Mary's County rate incorrect. The rate should have been 3%. The program inserted 3.2%. When I tried to override it, it would not let me. I had to go back to the background worksheet and delete the political subdivision. Then during the final review, it flagged the subdivision as needing attention. When I put the political subdivision back in, it applied the correct St. Mary's County tax rate. I suggest looking at this part of the software AND more importantly insuring that the County tax rate database is correct. Other than this, I like the product and probably will continue using it.
