I've been using H&R Block software for several years and generally it's easy to use and fairly straight forward. One problem I encountered this year and the software was unable to answer my question. I contribute to an HSA and last year I started Medicare mid year. I know I can't contribute to an HSA after Medicare, but it seemed like the software would not allow any deduction for HSA contributions once it realized I was over 65 and on Medicare. I was able to find a work around, but it seems like the software should be able to calculate and allow HSA deductions before age 65.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

I switched from Turbo Tax to H&R Block about 5 years ago and I'm still glad I did. I find this software to be more accurate with fewer program bugs. There are some minor glitches such as forms getting included that are not pertinent to my situation. These can be easily deleted. I wish they would allow us to uncheck boxes for items that might have been included in prior years but are no longer needed. Despite the minor issues, it gets the job done at a reasonable price.

eyesight accessibility for the impaired please!

I've used H&R Block software for years, and I've always been able to trust it. The issue I have is with eyesight accessibility. The only way I can scale the font to a larger size is using Ctrl-+ which doesn't scale the entire form, causing the text to grow beyond the edges of the form making the content unreadable.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Hard to prepare

Pretty good, but I have simple taxes.
Only issue I found was the software identified Standard Itemized deduction was the best verses Itemized deductions. The software did not put the itemized deduction on the Federal form and was caught by the checker and I had to manually put the value in. I believe this occurred last year too.
