4/12 The forms popped up that I had 12 corrections to make, changed them and I believed it was sent twice to IRS with difference in refunds. Never buy this again
I was very pleased with the overall experience with H&R block. I actually like it better than Turbo Tax because that program embeds videos and walks you through things that I don't want to be walked through. This seemed to be a much more streamlined process. Two recommended improvements: 1. Don't print the dependents page from the state (MD) form for dependents 7-12 if I don't have 7+ dependents. This is just silly. 2. You input your (and your spouse's) driver's license information within the program, and then again when you file. Seems if I entered it already, the program should auto-populate those fields.
Nits really, but my thoughts on making it better. Thanks, and see you next year! :)
I have used your tax software for several years. Unfortunately, this year and last, I had trouble with the State program for Mississippi. When the software calculated our state taxes, we allegedly owed $875 for 2015, which turned out to be wrong. We used the Mississippi website and actually owed only $271. Same this year, where the software indicated we owed $1003 for 2016, but - again after using the state website - we actually owed only $84. I don't know why this is, but there shouldn't be that much of a discrepancy.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import
I started using this software in an earlier incarnation as "TaxCut" - HR Block acquired the software and has refined it to the extent that I'd never consider another product. All the way from the MS-DOS days through many versions of Windows, I've always had a great experience preparing my taxes, thanks to H & R Block's software.
