Preparation went well. 1st IRS suspected my identity might be false.. I went through ID.me. Then they put my return “under review” for 180 days and won’t say why. They say it’s NOT an audit, but they won’t release my rather large refund due. Have you ever heard of such a thing? My return is very simple and uses standard deductions. There’s really nothing to review. They say they have my 1099s and W-2. They refuse to tell me what they’re reviewing. They have hung up on me twice when I ask what they are reviewing. The Taxpayer Assistance help line says I don’t qualify for assistance - I have no emergency need for the large refund they are holding. HELP!
The fed stuff is good and helped me work my way through a lot of forms. State and local issues are mostly good, but you need to do your homework and verify everything. We have had to correct omissions and found a few bugs in the state packages.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
Switched from another downloadable product several years ago when the other software became to pricey. The H&R Block package has been great for me and the other family members I do taxes for.
