I have used tax software from a few different companies over the years. H&R Block is a very good value for the price. I used Block's software this past tax season and will use it the next season also.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

Have used this software almost every year for the past decade. Good value (especially if you buy early) and works well enough, but you'll nearly double the purchase price if you actually want to e-file your state. The annoying "upsell" borders on a "bait and switch" IMO--why market a product as "Deluxe + State" if e-filing said state is NOT included? Would happily give four stars otherwise

I filed electronically on Feb. 20, 2024. On a letter dated March 13, 2024, the IRS requested that I verify that I really submitted the return and that I am me through IRS.gov/Verify Return. I did the verification process successfully within a week. As of May 25th, my return is still in the review process. How can they not know I am me?
