I've used H&R tax software because of discounted price & ease of use. Works well (Federal and State) & I've been a happy customer until I learned they have been sharing my data with other companies without my consent. Want a clear statement they will not do this in future. Until then I would not recommend any tax software unless they make that assurance.
Pros: Easy to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Value, but a little difficult to use. It does not explain the terminology well making it difficult to know what to do sometimes. In the past, I could go through my prior years return to see how I did it, but I could not do that this year, which increased the difficulty.
Cons: Hard to prepare
