If you have all your data, this software is as easy as it gets. Simply answer questions & input numbers! I would give this a strong 5 stars IF they still furnished it on CD, but the lack of a disc IS a huge fallacy.

I have been using H&R block for the past 12 years and the software is easy to use. The software asks correct questions to be answered to file taxes. However, there are too many updates until April, which make me wonder, whether one should wait until april to file taxes so that nothing is missed.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

I have used the software for many years, and have been very satisfied. This year I received a notice of error on the state return, the amount of tax paid was incorrect. Apparently there is a glitch in the software.

Each year they improve on something. This year I discovered the software could import all of my capital gains/losses and calculates everything for me. That was always the part I dreaded doing but now it is a breeze.

Because I have portfolio gains & losses, IRA mandatory withdrawals, and other things that keep me ineligible for "short form" free filing; I have used the Deluxe version for many years and have avoided paying taxes through carefully managing investments & withdrawals
