Have been using H&R software for 20 plus years. Never a problem until this year. The problem had to do with e-filing with the University of Buffalo and the Federal ID code. Spent over 50 minutes with 2 people trying to solve the problem and was finally told that I could not e-file and had to do it by paper mail. Would like to know when this issue has been fixed.
I’ve used H&R Block software for over 10 years. Easy to use. Every year it gets easier as the software imports previous year’s data and remembers my basic tax situation. Buy early to save money.

The HR block tax filing program has a glitch where if you accidentally click "file amended tax return" at the end of filing your taxes, you can't switch it back to regular tax filing. I didn't understand that it was irreversible when I clicked that option and followed the steps. I then had to start all over again so that I could file my taxes.
After all of that trouble, I them got a letter on the mail from both the state and federal IRS saying that the payment didn't go through. I'm not sure what I typed in wrong, but would've been nice to know that the payment was invalid at the time of submitting tax payment.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Had issues with IRS after submitting. Software not that great. It didn't ask the right questions, and why is it updated every week up through April? I typically submit in Feb.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
