All other times I have used the software there have been no issue for some reason when I used it to file 2023 the software was glitchy and had to do it several times because it gave me some incorrect forms to fill out and carried info over from 2 years previous despite putting and saving new info.. it was very annoying but after checking to ensure I was submitting the right thing it was fine.
I have used this software for at least 15 years and it has worked well for me. I like filing electronically so it was a disappointment that this year I had to file on paper because the IRS would not accept the electronic file. Why I don’t know. The printed forms, however, worked fine and I got my refunds without too much delay.
The software needs an improvement when printing the tax return. When printing the official return, I want the capability to uncheck the filing instructions and just print the return. I know this can be done by going to selected forms and printing from there but that is a pain to do.
We have used H&R Block for 5 years. This year my wife and I filed separately. She owed money, I didn’t. We tried repeatedly to e-file on April 15. We spend hours trying and repeated phone calls all were unsuccessful. My wife finally gave up and ran a hard copy and drove it to the post office. The following day after several attempts and phone calls my e-file went through.
