Unclear on security risks with brokerage download

I have had trouble with downloads from my brokerage firms. They advise that my security guarantee covering electronic theft might be compromised by granting access to hrblock. If hrblock has a data breach, my accounts could lose electronic loss guarantee.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
