I really regret buying this!

Very simple but thorough software at a reasonable price. Interview format is simple to use with help and explanations available at every step.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents

My yearly tax software

Use this software every year. Never a problem, easy to use, Loads all information from prior year. Makes the following years simple to use with all the prior year information loaded to the new year
Pros: Easy to prepare

Didn't give me a local tax credit

I am an Indiana resident. I did some work in Cincinnati. The employer withheld income tax for my Indiana county and local tax for Cincinnati. I am supposed to get a tax credit for
the local tax I paid to Cincinnati but the software would not give it to me. It would be too much trouble to try to alleviate this problem for the $45 or less I would get from it.
But I am angry that H and R Block tax software let me down.

Reliable software that I have used now for many years. It is easy to load; easy to enter data; easy to follow and complete and submit with e-file. The comments apply to Federal and state returns. One comment. With Deluxe version comes the Federal and one state return. To file state though with e-file and additional charge must be paid. Once again this year I comment that e-file for the state should be in the cost of the software for no extra charge. State comes with the Deluxe version and so should e-file.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast

I have a K1 from a publicly traded partnership and the software does not cover it this year as it did last year. But this is not known until you have purchased the software, which asks me to work on it myself. I would not have purchased it if I knew I needed to work on the k1 related forms myself.

After completing my return it was determined that I owed taxes for 2019. Not much, but I owe. When I tried to e-file and schedule a payment date to the IRS the H&R Block software would not allow a scheduled payment past April 15th, 2020. I THOUGHT THE GOVERNMENT EXTENDED THE DUE DATES?
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
