H&R Deluxe plus additional state

I got this software a week before filing deadline. This software made filing a breeze, I have been using H&R for last three years and has been pleased with how easy to use the software is.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import

Mostly smooth sailing

...except that when I installed and opened the application in April, warnings kept appearing saying, "so-and-so won't be available until January 25, 2017 after so-and-so happens". It's been almost three months, so I ignored them until I realized the software hadn't been updated to the post-January version yet. How about H&R Block 2017 automatically check for updates as soon as it's installed/opened or at least say explicitly that users should check for updates if it's installed after an update-date.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Issues with Pensions

All in all I am happy with this package. I do have an issue though. I carried over tax info over the last several years using this software. The issue has to do with Pensions. I get a 1099 for my pension. It is an older pension provided by my former employer. I did not contribute to this pension. It is not a 401K nor an IRA. When I input my 1099 the assumptions are made that this is a IRA type of plan. I couldn't seem to find where to correct this.
When I got to my state of NJ forms there was a question there which allowed me to uncheck the IRA /401K box. Why couldn't I find this for the federal forms.?

Great but confusing where to find the software

I love using the H&R Block software, but this year I had a hard time finding it on the website. At first, I ended up using the cloud-based version but then half way through realized this was the wrong version. I ended up calling and talking to someone and then starting over. My experience with the software was great, just had a hard time finding it. I would encourage that you make it easier for people to find the download software (which is hidden). Thanks

Needs more work for citizens living overseas

1. For citizens living overseas, it needs to be more automated. Entering the foreign income manually instead of reading off Form 2555 is not nice.
2. Also, some of the questions in the interview are exactly same as the IRS instructions with no further explanation or a reference to understand key words (like clicking on IRS terms to get an explanation.
3. The tool is almost same as the Fillable online forms in terms of easiness. I expected it to be more advanced and more user freindly

Getting Better every year

This year's dialog and questions were the best so far and the flow was also the best.

Turbo Tax raised the rate and I moved to H&R - better interview, better price, I LIKE IT
