Mistake of Mn income tax

I was informed by the Irs I would get a refund of $1600 because of miscalculations.
line 23 of Mn income tax . The line states mini worksheet for state estimated tax. The state est tax come from the Federal deduction section. Line 24 asks for the estimated tax but I read according to line 23 it was an automatic transfer.

Good program. I've used it for many years and it works fine except for one area -- the entry of oil Royalty data is not intuitive like the rest of the program. Entry requires two times thorough a similar looking table and the second table doesn't indicate it has the information from the first table. Took a couple of years to learn the idiosyncrasies of this. Would be nice to have it fixed.

Questions walk you through all necessary questions. This year seemed to be more difficult in relation to the exemptions portion. In addition, making corrections and modifications was noticeably more difficult for 2017.
