I have been a long, long time customer. Overall I am satisfied with the product. It can't handle K-1s very well, but now I no longer need it to. The state programs are well done. I had to file a WI return this year and would have been lost without the state program for WI as I don't live there and have little experience with filing a WI return. It was so goofy how they allocate the income, but I just followed the interview and Taxcut hid all the nonsense from me. In the end, it made what would have been a really difficult return easy.
I have been using H&R Block software to do my taxes for a few years now. It works very well and it's easy to use. Makes navigating the complicated tax world a lot easier.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare
It did not recalculate all forms when I did a change in dependents. Most all it did , but did not recalculate the form for Medical Assitance payments on the affordable care act , resulting in a letter from the IRS and me having to pay more and a penalty!!!
... purchased CD for 2017 Fed & NYS returns ... Fed return worked, NYS return was a disaster ... numerous S/W errors ranging from erroneous entries (entries I did not enter, calculated & entered by HRB program into various places in return) ... accuracy check failed to catch errors ... (still in dispute w/NYS tax returns to resolve actual problem) ... I'll stop here, but additional errors exist ... all errors could not be corrected via HRB program CD - had to mail via USPS NYS return ...
I have used this program for many many years and find it very helpful And won’t change it for the world Although recently I have had an issue Where I did not receive an accepted Message for one of my filings Kushlanad Singh and I know for sure That it was received by New York As the refund was received Not a major issue but could be looked into
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

I abandoned Intuit during its self-imposed crisis a few years ago when it forced its users into an "upsell" simply to get the same functionality as the previous year's less deluxe version. The only problem I've had, for the second year in a row, has been H&R Block's program crashing when importing data. This year the program wouldn't even relaunch until I restarted my computer. It's a serious bug in an otherwise commendable product.
The software did not really clarify where to enter pension payments and annuity distributions. At least I overlooked it in the questions asked. My eFile grouped them all together without separating the income source. I was a TAXACT user for the past eight years and the income was always separated correctly. What did I miss? Thank you.
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare
Easy to use. If you have K-1 forms you might need more help. Everything else was simple. Even imported all my interest, dividends and investment just information.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import, Fast
