While my return is fairly easy, I found the software to be easy to use, very clear and accurate. The only issue I had was about the coordination between the state e-filing dates and the software. While California was accepting filings before the 29th, it seems that I had to wait for a software update just to perform the appropriate state e-filing. However, everything went smoothly afterwards. With so many "free" online packages, the cost for the desktop version is a bit higher than needed. All around fine experience, however.

2017 TAX PROGRAM

I have been using H&R Block since I started doing my taxes on the computer, which was around 2000. I tried Turbo Tax one year and had to take it back to the store because it was too hard to understand.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare, Fast

EASY TO USE!!!

I have been using H&R Block Tax software for many years. I love it. Very easy to use. I am a lifelong AMEX Card holder. They offer discounts for the OTHER Tax software. I don't care about the discounts. I would rather pay the extra for H&R Block.
The only thing I disagree with in the PROS down below is the MAXIMIZES REFUND. The reality is, your refund is your refund. If you are not cheating on your taxes, your refund will be the same. Regardless of the Software, accountant, or if you do them the old fashioned way, on paper. But that doesn't matter. The software is simple to use. Quick. Clear. Concise. And lets you know when you are possibly doing things wrong.

Based on my experience with H&R Block. My taxes do not always take me 3-hours or less to complete but at least I am able to manage my taxes from my own home computer, and work the data on file that needs to be collected, since I have been using H&R Block I have been able to learn more about E-filing my Return.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare
