Easy to use

used this product last year for the first time. was a no brainer to use it for this year. the product is so easy to use, just follow the instructions and answer the questions. love the free efile also.

Fast, Simple, Reliable Taxes

I have used H&R Block - Deluxe for 7 years now. I love it. The programmers really nailed it for 2017. It's more simple and faster than ever. I actually kinda (but not really) look forward to tax time now because I know it will be quick.

Hands down the best option for taxes at home

I started with Kiplinger's(now known as H&R Block) about 20 years ago. Over that time I have mostly used H&R Block, though tried TurboTax a few times just to see why so many people used it. What I found with TurboTax was occasional errors in how it operated. I am a CPA and each time confirmed the problem with TurboTax. If that wasn't annoying enough, each time there was a little complexity in my situation the program forced me to upgrade to a more expensive version if I wanted to continue. H&R Block Deluxe has easily covered all my tax situations over the last 20 years at a very reasonable price. I've had only one issue during those 20 years where the CA state program was handling HSA withdrawals improperly since CA is nonconforming with federal tax statute.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Fast

I have been using this software for year and it as never failed me. I was even audited once ended having to pay - but was eventfully refunded that money. I would use any other software to prepare my taxes. AWESOME

Federal: Pretty good. CO State: Pretty good. Idaho: I think you should have your tax and software experts take a second look. Two potential problems. One: Idaho Miscellaneous subtractions/other subtractions/health insurance premiums...the "learn more" link had instructions that generated the "Total" deduction but didn't include worksheet instructions on how to generate the "Idaho" portion. Those worksheet instructions can be found on the state Idaho form 39NR instructions, page 31 at the top. Two: I could never figure out how to deduct US Government interest on your Idaho state software so I had to go into "Forms" and manually enter it on Forms 39R and 39NR. May have been my inability to answer your questions properly but tried it 2-3 times.

Cons: Hard to fix issues
