Disappointed

I’ve used H&R Block online in previous years and decided to use the Mac Desktop version this year to get the extra 5% back. The updates took forever to load, and failed half the time. The program didn’t auto save like the online version leading to list information when it crashed. It pulled incorrect info from previous years (as much as I wish my AGI was $15M last year, it wasn’t even 1% of that). And it just wasn’t very user friendly. Disappointed with the H&R product this year!
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to install

It didn't save my return

Clicked on save my file.. When I tried to restart the program it wanted me to start a new return... I browsed for my return and when I found it it states the same thing... Good thing I printed a copy... Hopefully next year I won't need this software anymore.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to fix issues

Kept filling in last year's AGI as $0.0

I used the software last year and on the page where it asks what my last year's adjusted gross income was it said we'll fill this in for you! It kept filling in $0.0 and wouldn't let me fill in the correct amount.
Cons: Hard to fix issues

Not sure what to do next year

As far as Federal and State (Ohio), all went fairly well. The problem was the Ohio School District Income Tax form. Absolutely will not print.. to anything. Print other forms within HRB:OK. Print from other applications: OK. Therefore I was left unsure if the file transmitted to the state was actually good or not. Guess I'll find out. Had to use the state website to file payment and payment voucher. Took all day to do a 2 or 3 hour job. Not happy about it.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to import
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues

Easy to use EXCEPT the help feature does not work!

The interface is easy to use with the questions. However, if you are someone who has never done taxes themselves, or if you are unsure of something, the help features do not work! You click the link and you only get a blank box. If you go to the menu and try help that way, the same thing. Terrible. I had to use google to get answers to some of my questions. Also every time I went to import my W-2 it crashed. I had to input everything manually.

Cons: Hard to import

An important part if the West Virginia tax form was left out if the software p. I ended up using another program to cmolete my state return.
