Errors, failed software and no customer support

I have been a user for several years and only had minimal issues. This year we experienced software errors, state return did not download and there was no customer support. I was not at all satisfied with the H&R Block experience and I will certainly share this with my friends. The software is certainly easy to use. However, there is no form review without printing filing.

I've been using H&R Block Deluxe with State for years. Every year I have to line-by-line check to insure that the calculated values are correct. Every year I find something that the software writers have screwed up. This year the screwup caused me to have to override 4 entries because they weren't calculated properly. This prevented me from e-filing. I'm really angry about this. I am certainly going to reevaluate my choice of tax software for 2018.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues, Hard to prepare
Software kept asking me to go back to federal form to report gross income from Roth money I took out. Tried to fill out 1099-r as per instructions for all the boxes. Including recommendations to fill box 14 same as 2b. Wasted too much time and finally decided to mail in state. Disappointing.
I used H&R Block tax software for the past few years and was happy but this year there were too many problems. First I could not import the W-2 info like past years...the software would shut down each time it tried so finally I entered everything manually. My federal tax return was rejected three times because the data imported from my last year’s tax return was incorrect - the AGI and even my dependent’s ss# oddly enough were incorrect and it was not straightforward to correct. I am not sure what happened this year but I was very disappointed.
When I imported our W-2's the software wouldn't allow me to e-file because it said I needed to enter the state value, but the W-2 info was entered with the state value. I couldn't find any way to make it recognize that it had the value. After an hour of trying to figure out how to get it to recognize it I deleted the W-2 info and entered them manually after which I was allowed to e-file. Although it wasn't flagged, I also noticed that the work form that the error was flagged for had the zip code wrong.
