Problems with ammended returns

I have several issues with the amended return section of the program. 1)Cover page treats an amended return as if were a new return. It did not indicate what information should be sent with it (only modified pages?, 1099R's?). 2)The wrong address was given on where to send the amended return.
Pros: Maximizes refund

E-Filed and IRS audit stated had not included Social Security income. Mailed a hard copy to clear up error, but the E-File got messed up either here or at IRS.
Cons: Time consuming
Pros: Easy to prepare

I've used this Basic software for years and have always been satisfied with it. This year, after downloading and hours into my return, discovered that it no longer supported Schedule D, Capital gains, losses and carryovers from my modest investment account. Pop-up informed that I now needed the more expensive Premium version to do this. I was very unhappy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
