Long time user of H&R Block tax software. It has been reliable, and easy to use throughout, up to this year. I ran into a problem with my tax owed being obviously too high. I called your software support three times. The first one was an hour and 15 minutes ending in a dropped call, though we were getting close. Second one was 20 minutes getting no closer and ended in a dropped call. Undaunted I called the third time, and got to work with Alaura, who saw the problem quickly and we had it solved in 10 minutes or so. I was not happy about the dropped calls without a call back. The wording in determining whether or not to check a box near the end of the credits was confusing. I have a Masters in Education, and can read pretty well but could not decipher exactly what was being asked. That's unusual for your software, never had that problem before. I will continue to use it, despite the dropped calls your online help people were courteous, and ultimately, helpful. I will expect you will be correcting the wording on those directions. Alaura suggested that the problem had been noticed by others.

Very good way to prepare taxes. HRB handled Schedule D differently than my broker's 1099-B instructions. This caused confusion but net amounts matched.

I have been using H&R Block tax software for a long time - I have tax documents back to the 90's done with their software. I have never had any problems, never been audited, and the software makes it very simple to do my taxes. I won't use anything else.

We needed help with our taxes. It appeared the software was not calculating ours correctly. It took several calls and a couple of weeks before we got a supervisor to explain what was going on. Overall it’s a good product and everyone we talked with was friendly, but it was a stressful experience.

I use H&R Block Tax Software to prepare my taxes for over 30 years already, and I love it.However, year after year I feel a trend to over simplify the product in favor of maybe higher margins alternatives. This year two thinngs compelled me to write this note: you raised your price beyond reasonable (+32% over last year, at your own website) and did not even provide an IRS Receipt for certifying the delivery of my return to them. You can succeed in turning something really good into something terrible. Please, don’t push it in this direction any further, or you will get it.
