I've been using H & R's tax software for at least a decade, maybe 2 or more. It continues to work really well as far as I can tell. I don't know if paying a CPA would result in a better outcome. The cost is very borderline on whether it's worth it or not. I like that the product is a fat client, but I wish the bug about screen resolution would get fixed. I don't need to be prompted to open the readme file just because I'm using a PC that was built after 1990. I would also love to see an end to the constant upselling in the product, or at least make skipping options more obvious. And don't copy the data to the state version before asking if the state will be purchased and used. The app does do a good job of flow and direction, and it's usually really good about stating what most people will need to choose or how to answer.

The only real change I would suggest is that if I already know that filing standard deduction is best for me I don't want to have to go through all the itemized deductions for your software to make the same decision.
