I have been using Tax Cut for at least 20 years. There have been a lot of changes since the early days. I appreciate that you keep the information up to date as each new tax year rears it's ugly head, I like the feature that imports my information, which saves time.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to fix issues, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import, Fast
I've been using this software for several years. The wizard has all the necessary prompts; the system loads data from previous returns; it calculates in real time; it facilitates an extension; it smoothly handles electronic filing. It's a bit clunky locating itemized lists when you need to go back to a completed section. It can be frustrating when you attempt to correct an error that it finds at filing time.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to fix issues
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bugs still in program as late as October 2018

Shocking that the program still had bugs as late as October 2018 for the 2017 tax year. Caused much inconvenience in e-filing.
I needed help after Harvey to catch all my changes and the software walked me though step by step. It was easy to get it completed and submitted by the deadline.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Been using this software for a few years and it's getting better. But still has a few flaws. To get all possible deductions and credits you have to carefully go through each section. The interview sometimes misses items.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import
I've used TaxCut for years, so my financial spreadsheet is set up to answer all its "interview" questions. I file Sched C & E, and they are relatively simple. And of course it does all the math!!!!! Also since I use it every year, it uploads prior year items so I don't forget to enter them, and does the calculation (like for depreciation) each year. The only problem I encountered this year was one entry TaxCut had done automatically (from data I'd entered on another page) that didn't give me a way to find out what page it came from. I eventually sleuthed it out. Usually it does give you that info. I also like the ability to switch between interview & tax forms, and "go to" whatever topic you want to.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import, Fast
