Bad enough experience that I'm switching next year

I've been using H&R Block's software since it was TaxCut. It's an automatic every year. My experience was so bad this year that I'm switching next tax season. First, I only qualified for the standard deduction, but H&R wouldn't let me finish my return because it wanted my "average mortgage balance for the year." Not something it asked for during the return, not something given to me by the bank, and not something that's necessary because my mortgage interest plays no part with the standard deduction. I had to manually delete the previous mortgage entries. But the worst part was when it was time to e-file I couldn't get a successful transfer. I kept getting "bad gateway" messages. Internet access was fine - everything worked except H&R. I made six attempts - all of them apparently unsuccessful according to H&R - but I eventually got an email saying my return was successful, then one saying it was accepted. The software itself still thinks I haven't filed it, so I can't "Check Status." What a high-stress disaster.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Directions for signing in did not work. Had to search for number and put on hold for over an hour. Once I got software downloaded, program easy to use.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Could not get program to file electronically. Had to print out and mail return. Tried all online fixes but none worked. Also, had to file form 709 hard copy. Why can't that be included in program?
Pros: Easy to prepare

I've used the software for years. I find it helpful and hugely better than paper filing. The 3 stars rating is due to the April 15 efiling problems. How does a tax software giant have problems with efile on April 15??!! HSA interview is problematic - if both have HSA accounts but only one is actively contributing.

Cons: Hard to prepare
