I've used H&R Block software for years and have never had a problem using it. Tax returns were always correct
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Received email from Block saying it’s accepted my return. Software says it hasn’t been filed. When attempting to file I received “bad gateway” message. My laptop is connected to internet

Servers are down, can't file my taxes!!!!! This a 100% failure on the day before taxes are due. First time I've ever had a problem with HR Block software. Tied E-filing my taxes and get the error "Bad Gateway". Clearly the HR Block servers are having a melt down. I will not be using this software next year.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worked ok

Tried to e-file federal taxes.Kept getting an error bad gateway and message saying it failed.Tried several times and went through trouble shooting help but didn't work.Then all of a sudden i get an email the irs accepted my return.But the software thinks i didn't file and now I can't check the status or know if it actually got sent or not.Also will not let me e-file for state because of this.I could have got a cheap version if i wanted to just mail them and now i had to waste the time to print my federal return and mail it in just in case.

Filing status is confusing

The software worked well while creating the return but when I clicked submit, it kept spinning and spinning and finally displayed error. I tried twice with the same result. As it was in the night of 4/14, I thought the server might be busy and planned to try again early morning next day. But in the night, I got an email that my return was filed and accepted. In the morning, I checked H&R block software and it still said not filed. I went to IRS web site and confirmed that my return was indeed filed. It is so confusing and misleading.

I have used the Basic software package for many years. I have a schedule C and we itemize so this is a perfect fit. I also prepare my mom’s return and she has a couple of rental properties, and again this software has the capability I need. I find it to be user friendly and it will walk you through the process by interview style questions or you can just simply complete the forms. I like the interview style in case there is a new tax law that I might overlook if I fill out the forms on my own. I am a CPA but not a tax practitioner. My son also uses this product and he is also a CPA who does not work in the tax field. I highly recommend this product.

Get a message that my return was successful but then I get a message that the serve is not connected. No decent way to follow up with support. AI chat bot was not helpful at all
