With the five year old Envy coming to the end of its life I was pleased to see a larger spec version now available from its maker. The new model is excellent and you can really feel the difference in weight with the CD-ROM removed. If I had one quibble it would be that all images of the new model I purchased showed a second "CTRL" button on the right hand side of the keyboard and there was none when the actual product arrived. Also I would question placing the power button between the "prt sc" and "delete" buttons along the top row. I have a concern I'll reach to delete something and accidentally turn the whole device off instead. Other than those two minor issues it is an excellent product and I look forward to many years of use ahead with it.

I am very satisfied with my HP Envy 17 -inch, particularly the image quality when showing photos from my 36 megapixel camera and the speed of operation. The display does however seem to be heavier in the red colours when watching 'Youtube', but this might be a 'persistence of vision' effect when coming away from my 15-inch laptop. An HP mouse fits my hand like a glove.

Pretty good, great screen, pity PSU uses 1 of the 2 USB-C sockets. Battery life could be longer

Great laptop, pretty fast, use it for compiling/debugging and PCB design work. A little on the heavy but OK for me. Great screen, abeit a bit too reflective. Sound OK, but not particularly loud. Only two USB-C connectors, one of with has to be used for PSU. Spec battery life of 8.5hrs is I think a bit high, I typically get about 4-5 hours. 50% fast recharge in 30mins seems OK. One issue that is a little annoying is the HDMI port does not always detect a second monitor, particularly if previously connected to a different one. No sure if my older monitor or a driver issue.
