Great machine, great coffee, not so great recycle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased a Vertuo Pop Plus Deluxe. I am very happy with it. It takes up minimal space on my small kitchen counter. There are now a lot of coffee pod choices. I still like a full American size cup of coffee in the morning and the pods for the Colombian and other non-espresso blends are great….as is the amount and the texture of the “crema”. The only draw back is that Nespresso makes if very difficult to recycle the pods. The recycle bag was not offered to me at the Tysons Corner Boutique….now, it seems I can only get ONE recycle bag when I place a new order. This is very inconvenient and a bit too, too bureaucractic.
I would recommend this to a friend!

For the price point, you cannot go wrong with the Pop+. I’ve been wanting a nespresso for awhile but didn’t want to invest the money nor the counter space. The pop took care of both those concerns. I can make my blonde double espresso, which tastes just like my coffee order (!), at home without having to drive 20 minutes to the closest Starbucks! So happy!!!

Horrible

Wow. Constant problems. Making a cup of coffee has never been such a pain. Every morning for two weeks I've looked at this machine and asked "Are you going to make coffee this morning?" Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. New capsules, two cups over the course of an hour and constant error messages. It was a gift, which makes it even worse. The latch on my previous coffeemaker broke, but guess what I've gone back too? Yes, holding the top down for three minutes while it brews. I used to have a Nespresso (older model) that worked fine but I gave a way when I moved. This one is awful.

Feels cheap

I bought this as a gift for my sister and it works as needed but upon opening, there is an immediate quality difference. I have the Vertuo Plus from 2023 and it feels significantly more expensive. The Pop just feels like lightweight plastic. Even when adjusting it, I noticed how flimsy the water tank, disposal container and drip tray are. I know this model is more affordable but I didn't expect the extreme difference in physical quality. Other than that, it brews coffee as it should. Also-- I have the Pastel Yellow and for some reason it has registered as Pacific Blue on the app.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Difficult to operate.

The open/close latch is extremely difficult to operate. I now have a sprained thumb. Is this a design flaw or did I purchase a damaged machine?

Hard to open capsule holder + too much foam

I bought this about 7 months ago and am very disappointed. First, it is very difficult to open and close the capsule holder. I have to force it, and my 75 year old parents weren't able to do it. Horrible design. Second, the machine produces SO MUCH foam, like 2 inches per cup that I have to scoop out. Do not recommend.

The layer that forms on top of each brewed coffee is a combination of coffee and air called the crema and is naturally created during the extraction process. As each blend brews according to its own unique parameters, there is no way to adjust the amount of crema that forms, however the volume will subside. We recommend folding the crema into your cup to ensure consistency in flavor and temperature. For any machine issues you're experiencing, please call 24/7 for assistance, 800.562.1465.
