One of my favorite kitchen appliances

I debated on buying a Nespresso for a couple of years. I didn't know if I was going to use it a lot especially since I came from a Keurig family. I decided on a normal but very basic espresso machine. I used it for about a month before it got to be really annoying at making a cup of espresso. Then randomly one day I decided I'm gonna buy a Nespresso. I've used this machine every day since then. I'm so made that I waited so long to buy one. This is by far one of my most used machines other than my air fryer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just got my Pop model yesterday and was anxiously waiting as my old machine died and leaked all over. Disappointed the water tank did not swivel but liked the quality of the water tank. Extremely disappointed in the temperature of my cup of coffee this morning when I used it for the first time. I still had to heat it more in my microwave for 30 seconds. Other reviews mentioned it was loud. Boy they were not kidding. What is wrong with your engineering department that they can’t design a coffee maker that does not sound like you are at the Indy 500? For the investment consumers make in the cost of the capsules we are entitled and expect a quality coffee maker. Nespresso, you can do better and owe it to your consumers to do better.

Machine stopped working after 2 days

My machine stopped working after 2 days. I was able to get the machine up and running, connected to WiFi and poured a few cups of coffee. The following day, my machine would not turn on, despite trying multiple outlets for power sources. Very disappointed. I spent a lot of money on a machine for it to malfunction so quickly.

We took a chance on the Vertuo Pop Plus and are returning it. We wanted something smaller and wanted to try some of the larger pods. 1. It is super noisy. If you live in close quarters it is noisy enough to wake others up in the morning. 2. It's hard to close and just feels overall cheap. Our older model is much better quality, not as noisy, and easier to open close / use. 3. It's not as frothy as our older model. A personal preference, but a big minus for us. 4. The coffee didn't feel overheated temperature wise, but it smelled and tasted overheated. For reference, exact same pods used in the older machine the same day, so definitely a machine issue vs a pod issue. Just some things to consider if you're looking for a smaller machine; this one may not be it.

I bought this machine last week and planned to replace it with an older model of the Vertuo that I have. The reason I wanted the Pop Plus was because it brews more sizes like alto/XL, and my current Vertuo only brews four cup sizes. I have use it every day since I purchased it. So far compared to my older model this machine seems more cheaply made. I struggle with close and lock feature each time. Every time I close it down it seems like its not locked in placed and you have to fiddle with it to be sure. The plastic used here just seems cheaper while my older model had a sturdy locking system. Secondly, when I brew coffee this machine seems to produce triple the amount of foam then my other machine when brewing so your left with less coffee and more foam. I am good with an inch or so of foam but this more than half the cup. I have stir each cup to settle the foam which is annoying when I am in a rush in the mornings. Lastly and most important the machine spout is set so low you cant fix your alto (nespresso cup) or a taller cup under the spout! Why oh why if its suppose to brew even larger sizes than my other machine is the spout set to low on this machine. My other machine only brewed up to 7.7 oz and there was still plenty of room to place a large cup underneath. It is so inconvenient and annoying that I have to use two cup when it is process of brewing and then transfer the two cups it brewed into one large cup simply because the spout is set too low to fix my tall cup under it! I regret buying this machine, and having two large sizes to brew was not worth the inconvenience of the short spout and my current nespresso cups not fitting underneath.

Overall great machine, but with a few flaws.

I've had my Pop Plus for almost a year, and overall I really like it. Of course, it makes a great cup of coffee, and it makes it fast. Other than that, here are some pros and cons:
Pros
1. It has a small footprint compared to other Vertuo models, and the unique shape allows it to fit comfortably into a corner, if needed.
2. It heats up faster than older Vertuo models
3. The water tank is easy to remove and clean
4. It's quieter than older Vertuo models (although still vibrates quite a lot)
5. The pod catch bin is easy to remove and clean
Cons
1. I got the gold and black color, and the gold finish is simply a cellophane film. How did I discover this? Well, I put the mug tray in some water one night to soak off dried coffee, and when I went to wash it the next morning, the gold colored film *sloughed off* leaving the steel beneath exposed. This feels really cheap and below the standard I expect for Nespresso machines.
2. Why, oh why, is the column below the spout CONVEX?? Who did this? It should be a concave curve to accommodate the shape of most mugs, or at the very least be flat. With the column rounding outward, it means you can't use mugs with any sort of inward curve at the mouth or you risk the stream of coffee not making it in, and pouring all over your countertop, instead.
3. This machine DOES accommodate XL capsules, but it has a tough time ejecting the pods when you open the chamber afterward. I've had almost every XL pod get stuck and need to be removed by hand vs sliding down into the catch bin.

the water tank on the side is a deal break for me, it doubles foot print and prevents this machine from being the space saver it claims to be. I really want a vertuo machine, but may have to go with the orginal capsules

Thank you for your feedback. We regret to learn that our Vertuo Pop Plus did not meet your expectations. We are here to assist and would like to suggest our VertuoPlus, which features an adjustable water tank option, or our Vertuo Next machine, with the water tank positioned at the back.

The VertuoPlus is more comparable in size, measuring W 8.7 in, H 12.7 in, and D 12.8 in, while the Vertuo Next may be slightly larger than expected, with dimensions of W 5.5 in, H 12.4 in, and D 16.8 in.
