I have both the standard and the Pro Meater. The pro has two large improvements. The higher temperatures allow me to use it on my gas grill in lower settings, and the probe has a more extended range to the base station. This is a big deal; the standard unit had a difficult time communicating with the base station in my oven, this on works much better
I bought this as a Christmas present. My son in law used it Christmas Day to smoke a prime rib. The meat was so moist and delicious. You can monitor the meat without opening the bbq and releasing the heat. Oh so easy. Best prime rib yet.
Purchased this for my husband for Christmas and he is very critical of kitchen gadgets. So far he is happy and enjoying using the device. Our turkey and chicken dishes are not dry and it’s very easy to use.
Our oven is built in an island with corrion on top. With the item in a steel roaster the signal would not pick it up. At a friend's place with a normal freestanding oven it worked great.
